Care of Clothes
Washing
To optimize the look of your garments and to avoid unnecessary damage, please pay particular attention to our washing hints.
- Always wash your garments inside out to protect the face of the fabric
- Try to avoid very hot water - use warm or cold water.
- Separate dark colours from whites. Even though some pastels can be washed with whites, we don't recommend it.
- To avoid damage to both the garment and washing machine , always fasten zips, studs, buttons and buckles prior to washing
- We suggest that you always read the care instruction label and follow the instructions given.
- We recommend that you always wash garments prior to wearing them.
Drying
- Try to avoid hanging wet clothes in direct sunlight. If you need to do so, then always ensure the garments are hung on the line inside out.
- Try to avoid drying clothes in a dryer but if you need to them place the heat setting on very low to any shrinkage
Ironing
- If you have a garment that is printed, it is prudent to iron the garment inside out to avoid any
"Smudging" (Especially if the print is puff or plastisol). If the print is a standard pigment type
print, you are able to iron over it.
The easiest way to determine the print type is by feel. If it feels rough and a different texture to the garment - DO NOT apply the hot iron directly onto the print. If the print is smooth and feels as though it is the same texture as the overall garment,- then you are able to apply the hot iron directly onto the print.
Printing & Embroidery
When it comes to choosing between Printing & Embroidery, it inevitably comes down to price. As well consideration is given to personal preference, durability size etc.
A+ can't decide on your personal preferences but in most other aspect, we can. You see we make it easy for your decision making in that we offer both embroidery and printing of your logo, at the same price. The only difference is the setup cost for both with embroidery in most cases costing less to set up.
We note that when we embroider you logo onto a garment it is far more durable, doesn't fade the same as printing inevitably does and most certainly makes the garment easier for Mums when ironing. As well it is fair to say that your logo can and will retain its vibrancy.
Printing certainly has its place though. We tend to use printing when making our special occasion polos or fleecies, where we print very large displays on the backs of garments. We also use printing on school bags and of course where the school requires us to use it.
We must point out though; where we use print, it is important that the heat of the iron never comes into direct contact with it. If we use print on a garment, these same garments are better ironed inside out.
The choice is yours - but remember, A+ has taken price, durability and vibrancy of colour out of the cost equation when it comes to your uniform needs.
